Originating from the American West Coast, this beer often boasts a clear, amber-gold hue, with pronounced piney and citrusy hop flavors and a crisp bitter finish. The most common West Coast IPA included in the rotating Pure Hops subscription is our core WC IPA, Pure West.

Pure West glows with scents of pineapple, apricot, and lemon sorbet, and has flavors of grapefruit zest, lychee, and resin that give way to a solid bitter finish, classic to the style.

Murky IPA

Murky IPAs are Pure Project’s version of the New England-style IPA, which are also often referred to as “hazy” IPAs (learn more about our usage of the term “murky” here). The murkiness of these brews is mainly thanks to two things: using high protein grains in the mash and heavy dry hopping at the end—or post-fermentation.

Originating from the northeastern part of the U.S., these beers are known for their extremely hazy, almost milkshake-like appearance. They are often less bitter than traditional IPAs, with a juicy, fruity flavor profile that’s reminiscent of tropical fruits like mango, passionfruit, and pineapple. Our core murky IPA, Diamond Dust, rotates in our Pure Hops shipments. Like Pure West, whenever we have a super fresh batch right off the canning line, we include it!

Diamond Dust shines with a heavy dose of Cashmere from Michigan and hand-selected Mosaic hops from the Pacific Northwest. Its soft and cloudy body is filled with a flurry of flavors including peach, mango, coconut, and grapefruit zest.

West Coast Double IPA & Murky Double IPA

Double IPAs, or DIPAs, are the imperial version of the original styles. DIPAs are higher in alcohol content and are typically bolder in flavor and feature more ingredients than their single counterparts.
