Tasting Room Bartender
Pure Project – San Diego, CA

Pure Project is currently interviewing professionals who will proudly represent the Pure Project brand and mission with a positive, high-energy attitude and who will help provide an exceptional experience for our guests.

The primary responsibility of the bartender is to ensure all guests receive excellent beverage service. In general, every bartender will be asked to handle every task from opening to closing the bar.

  • Pour and serve beer.
  • Operate a cash register and/or POS system.
  • Proper cash handling.
  • Balance cash drawer at the end of each shift.
  • Wash and sanitize glasses/dishes.
  • Restock supplies.
  • Provide service to each guest courteously, quickly, and efficiently.
  • Suggestive selling.

Skills:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of beer and a good sense of smell, skill distinguishing flavors and colors in beer.
  • A passion for craft beer, brewing, and the industry.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Responsible, reliable, honest and outgoing.
  • The ability to work a flexible schedule including occasional early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holiday.
  • Good general math and cash handling skills.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of high volume bartending experience.
  • 21+ Years of Age.
  • Strong work ethic and full commitment to guest satisfaction.
  • Certified Beer Server via Cicerone is preferred.

Door Person
Pure Project – San Diego, CA

Pure Project is currently interviewing professionals who will proudly represent the Pure Project brand and mission with a positive, high-energy attitude and who will help provide an exceptional experience for our guests.

Job Responsibilities:

  • The Door Person monitors various sections of the establishment, from the bathrooms, bar, patio and sidewalk area surrounding Pure Project to ensure safety. 
  • Patrols the bar from time to time to ensure all guests are in good conduct
  • Identifies rowdy patrons and escorts them politely from the establishment if needed if they are a nuisance to other patrons. 
  • Monitors the bar occupancy to ensure it doesn’t exceed maximum capacity. 
  • Inspects the identification of patrons to prevent underage individuals from drinking. 
  • Monitors entrances and exits and ensures that individuals who have been barred do not get into the establishment.
  • Resolves conflicts in a calm and polite manner.
  • Restrains anyone who gets into a fight, takes care of patrons’ welfare — for instance, by summoning safe ride services for them on request. 
  • The Door Person also writes up reports of incidents at the bar for record-keeping purposes.
  • Maintains all order around the premises. 
  • Picks up any trash outside the establishment. 
  • Takes all end of day trash out to the back walk way for disposal.
  • Escorts any end of night staff safely to cars if requested.
  • Promotes a work environment that is positive, customer-service oriented, and compliant with established policies and procedures.

Skills:

The Door Person job responsibilities involve working long hours and potential physical confrontation. The Door Person is Pure Project’s first point of contact with guests and therefore they should be presentable, kind and courteous. The Door Person is also expected to always be mentally alert to quickly spot any disturbance on the premises.

Working Conditions:

Door Person is often exposed to dangerous circumstances and rough individuals. The Door Person may have to work long hours during holidays and weekends. The Door Person should also expect to work Part Time mostly at night on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Requirements:

  • Must have California Guard Card Licenses
  • Must be LEAD Certified 
  • Experience working as a guard in Bar or Brewery setting is highly preferred
  • Experience working in a fast-paced retail, production environment
  • Demonstrated safety, security, risk management, and client service capabilities
  • Must pass a criminal Background check
  • Excellent surveillance and observation skills
  • Experience with conflict resolution
  • Must have excellent customer service skills 
  • Ability to work days, nights, and/or weekends
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Great work ethics and responsible employee
