Created in collaboration with WILDCOAST, our new West Coast IPA, Baja Breach, directly supports efforts to protect gray whale nursery habitat along the Baja California Peninsula and the offshore waters vital for the species’ survival. This beer comes as a follow-up to past WILDCOAST collaborations for good, including our Noc-Turtle IPA and Rewild, our newest core beer!
To celebrate its release, we’re also hosting a Baja Breach Release Party on Wednesday, October 28th. Kicking off at 6:30PM at The Sea House in Encinitas, we’ll have an evening of beer, tacos, music, community, and conservation benefiting WILDCOAST’s work to protect gray whales and Baja’s coastal ecosystems. Grab your ticket and join us for a night of conservation and community!
About WILDCOAST
WILDCOAST is an international team that works to protect oceans, coastlines, and marine species through community-led initiatives. By working with local communities, organizations, and agencies, their programs combine research, hands-on protection, monitoring, and education to create meaningful, long-term impact for coastal and marine ecosystems and nearby communities.
Inside the San Ignacio Whale Sanctuary

Every winter, Eastern Pacific gray whales complete a thousands-of-miles migration from their Arctic feeding grounds to the warm, sheltered waters of the Baja California Peninsula. Nestled in the Vizcaíno Biosphere Reserve, Laguna San Ignacio is the world’s last pristine, undeveloped gray whale nursery.
Framed by mangroves and coastal desert dunes, this lagoon provides a safe area for mother whales to give birth, nurse their calves, and teach them how to swim.
Protecting Sanctuary Waters for the Future
Despite decades of protection efforts, gray whale habitats face ongoing pressures.

Proposed industrial and tourism developments risk destroying the delicate shorelines and carbon-storing mangrove ecosystems that gray whales rely on. Meanwhile, climate change shifts prey availability along the whale’s migratory corridor.
Unregulated coastal activity also threatens nursing mothers and their vulnerable calves. To keep these nursery waters safe and wild, proactive measures like WILDCOAST’s federal zone concessions, land easements, and community-driven sustainable ecotourism are more essential than ever.
