Triple Bottle Release: Endless Night, Ember Song, & Pluot Twist

Three new aged brews have rested and are ready to grace the palate. Meet Endless Night, a new bourbon barrel-aged stout collab with the stout masters over at 3 Sons Brewing Co.; Ember Song, a smooth oud bruin with smoked cacao and vanilla; and Pluot Twist, an oak barrel-aged sour ale starring California-grown organic pluots.

All three bottles will be released on Thursday, August 4th at all five taproom locations as well as for California shipping. Check out all the details below.

 

BEER DETAILS

ENDLESS NIGHT

Bourbon Barrel-Aged Stout with Coconut, Vanilla, & Cacao
12.3% ABV

Together with stout masters, 3 Sons Brewing Co., we present Endless Night, the barrel-aged stout of our collective dreams. We started with a double mash to deliver a big-bodied beer. As the name of the term implies, we mashed in twice and combined the first runnings to create a super concentrated wort. (And in our constant effort to reduce waste, we brewed another beer out of the second runnings!) The stout went on to rest in Breckenridge bourbon barrels for 10 months before being conditioned on organic Sri Lankan toasted coconut, Tahitian vanilla bean, and Ghanaian cacao. The result exceeded our dreams: a jet-black brew with a decadent, thick body. Aromas of toasted coconut, melted vanilla bean ice cream and marzipan intermingle with flavors of toffee, bourbon-soaked ladyfingers and chocolate mousse. Prepare yourself for the best kind of Endless Night.

EMBER SONG

Oak Barrel-Aged Oud Bruin with Smoked Cacao & Vanilla
7.2% ABV

Light the fire and cozy up with Ember Song, our most oak-forward mixed fermentation brew to date. Our take on a classic oud bruin, Ember Song aged for 17 months in Roes Red barrels with oak soaked in Islay peated Scotch whisky. About a month before bottling, we added organic cacao that we had smoked with cherry wood, and luxurious Tahitian vanilla bean—complementing the ale’s savoriness. Flavors of cocoa, cherry, and vanilla with slight orange zest dance through its brownish-maroon hue. Smooth and oaky, Ember Song drinks like a fine port wine, with a touch of smokiness, reminiscent of a campfire crackling in the distance.

PLUOT TWIST

Oak Barrel-Aged Sour Ale with Pluots
6.8% ABV

And now for a Pluot Twist! A new sour beer blend starring California-grown organic pluots, aged up to 14 months in two types of oak barrels—cider and cherry wine—from Mission-Trail Ranches in Bradley, CA. Spoiler alert: This brew has gracefully aged into quite the complex creation, with layers of flavor beyond the featured hybrid fruit. Complementary aromas of white nectarine and pear arise from its straw color and bright white head. Expect this ale to deliver essences of lemon-lime zest and riesling wine-like minerality on the tongue with a fair amount of funk. But don’t take the full beer review from us…Pluot Twist produces a unique experience for every palate—you’ll just have to taste it for yourself.

The bottles will be available for purchase online starting at 9am on Thursday, August 4th, and available for pickup at all five taproom locations when doors open at 12pm.

If you would like to place an order online for pickup, please place your order for the taproom location where you plan to pickup from (Carlsbad, Vista, Miramar, Balboa Park, or North Park).

A limited amount of bottles will be released online for California shipping. They will be sold on a first-come-first-served basis starting at 9am on Thursday, August 4th. Orders placed before noon will ship overnight for Friday delivery.
