Strawberry Fest Release: Sunset Crush

Strawberry season is upon us! We’re excited to release your favorite strawberry beers again this year, brewed with local organic strawberries from J.R. Organics.

First in our Strawberry Fest 2021 lineup is the return of Sunset Crush!

Sunset Crush will be released on draft at all taprooms on Thursday, May 27th. Come for a fresh pour, or take a fill home with you.

Cream Ale with Strawberry & Vanilla
5.8% ABV

A summer twist on our house cream ale, Sunset Crush is full of fruity, bright acidity thanks to 1500 pounds of local, organic strawberries from J.R. Organics. The addition of organic Tahitian vanilla bean creates a sweet and creamy backbone to showcase the strawberries—a true reflection of our local terroir. This refreshing ale got its name for a reason—it is the perfect beer to crush while basking in the beauty of a San Diego sunset.

We are proud to source our organic strawberries locally from J.R. Organics. Located just up the road in North County, J.R. Organics is named after Joe Rodriguez, Jr., a fourth generation farmer on the grounds who initially helped his father farm conventionally. After several illnesses caused by exposure to agricultural chemicals, Joe asked his father for a small piece of land to start farming organically. In 1986, after successfully growing crops organically for a few years, Joe obtained his California Certified Organic Farmers (CCOF) certification and J.R. Organics was formed. Since then, Joe has expanded his business and taken over the farm. All produce from J.R. Organics is 100% organic and grown in the purest way possible…including the 10,000 pounds of strawberries that are being added to our strawberry brews this season!
