Bottle Release: Double Corylus & Everything is Beautiful

Our next bottle release features a double bourbon barrel-aged version of Corylus, as well as a special chardonnay barrel-aged spontaneous ale collaboration with our friends at Homage Brewing.

The bottles will be released on Thursday, September 2nd at all four taproom locations as well as for CA & NV shipping. Check out all the details below.

DOUBLE CORYLUS

Double Bourbon Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout with Hazelnut, Cacao, & Coffee
16.1% ABV

Corylus is back, and this batch has been double bourbon barrel aged. This decadent imperial stout rested in Breckenridge bourbon barrels for 10 months before being transferred into Weller Full Proof bourbon barrels for another 12 months; its aging process created an incredible depth of character. To top it off, we added organic hand-toasted Oregon hazelnuts, organic Ghanaian cacao, and organic Costa Rican coffee from our friends at Café Milagro. Expect your senses to be greeted with long-awaited aromas of bourbon, caramel and milk chocolate that give way to notes of hazelnut fudge, toasted marshmallow and espresso on the tongue. Double Corylus’ warmth and rich, velvety body speak not only to its careful selection of ingredients but to its extended time in barrels; this one was aged to perfection.

Chardonnay Barrel-Aged Spontaneous Ale with Strawberry & Kiwi
6.5% ABV

Introducing a spontaneous ale collaboration with Homage Brewing, designed to showcase the beauty of terroir-driven beers. Everything is Beautiful is a blend of both breweries’ lambic-inspired spontaneous ales. Ours was aged in French oak California chardonnay barrels for a year; Homage’s is a three-barrel blend aged between six months and two years in red wine barrels. The two beers were married into one and the blend went through a secondary fermentation together with organic Frontera strawberries from J.R. Organics and organic kiwis, before being transferred into bottles. The result is a beautiful golden-colored brew with a pink hue. A multitude of aromas float from the glass, including strawberries & cream, funk, kiwi, oak, and subtle white pepper. Essences of crushed strawberries, tart lemon and pomelo intermingle with soft tannins and complex acidity on the palate. May you enjoy everything about this beautiful beer.

TAPROOM RELEASE DETAILS

The bottles will be released at all four taproom locations on Thursday, September 2nd. They will be released online at 9am, and they will be available for pickup at all four taproom locations when our taprooms open at 12pm (Miramar, Balboa Park, and Carlsbad) and 3pm (Vista). In other words, you can purchase online OR in person, but please note the bottles will be sold on a first-come-first-served basis starting with the online orders at 9am.

If you would like to order and pay online for pickup, please place your order at the location where you plan to pickup.

• Your order is not complete until you check out (no orders are held in shopping cart).
• At time of purchase you can select your pickup day: same day, next day, or two days out. You must pick up on your selected day and time.
• If you would like to designate someone else to pickup your order, please place your online order under their name. The name of the person picking up needs to match the name on the order.

 

SHIPPING RELEASE DETAILS

A limited amount of bottles will be released online for California and Nevada shipping at 9am on Thursday, September 2nd. They will be sold on a first-come-first-served basis.
