Hike for Hops

Join trip leaders Diana and Lowell Lindsay for this Hikes & Hops Adventure up Coyote Canyon to the top of Alcoholic Pass. Meet at Christmas Circle to car pool and drive 8 miles to the Desert Gardens area where we will park our cars to begin the hike—2.7 miles round-trip from Desert Gardens. We will hike up the Alcoholic Pass Trail to the register where everyone can sign in that they successfully made the strenuous, 630-foot climb to the top from the trailhead. Bring a lunch or snack to enjoy at the top while taking in the sweeping views of the Santa Rosas to the northeast and the San Ysidros to the southwest. Alcoholic Pass was supposedly named because it was a short cut from Clark Valley to Borrego Valley for early cattlemen who wanted to “wet their whistles.” Having conquered the pass and in the finest of tradition, we will head down to wet our whistles with some fine brew provided by Burning Beard and Pure Project Brewing Companies at Desert Gardens! Trekking poles and hiking boots recommended.

$15 for members of Anza Borrego Foundation, $20 for non-members

Limited space available. Register here: https://theabf.org/hikesandhopsFeb2020/
